Chosuke Nakamoto (仲本 長介 Nakamoto Chosuke) is a character in Fugou Keiji Balance: Unlimited.


Chosuke is a member of the Metropolitan Police Department Modern Crime Prevention Task Force. He is a veteran detective that used to be in the Investigation division. He is highly respected by Haru Kato.


Chosuke is an aged man with a slightly hunched figure. His eyebrows and hair are gray, and his spiky hair is styled with a slight undercut. Chosuke also has gentle, brown eyes that are framed by glasses and light stubble.

He wears a dress shirt with a neatly tied navy-blue tie, beige suit pants, and brown Oxford shoes. His beige suit jacket matches his pants and is usually worn open.

Chosuke is often seen smoking a cigarette.


Chosuke is shown to be extremely wise and sympathetic. However, he is not above emotionally manipulating criminals under interrogation in order to detract confessions from them, as seen when he guilts a young street performer into revealing the identity of his drug supplier with thoughts of his struggling single mother.


Episode 1

Chosuke is briefly seen drinking tea across from Mahoro Saeki at the booth in the Modern Crime Prevention Task Force Preparations Room.

Episode 2

Haru begins to berate Daisuke's reliance on money and machines, saying that he should learn how Chosuke interrogates people.

Chosuke tosses two dice in his hand as he talks to one of the comedians. He says that he doesn't care about scum, however he does feel great sympathy for the the comedian's single mother. When the man starts to almost cry, Chosuke gets up to comfort him, telling him to start his story over, for his mother.

Coming out from the interrogation room, he sticks a cigarette in his mouth. As Daisuke Kambe exits from the other interrogation room, the two look at each other, before Chosuke pats Haru on the chest and walks off.



  • The name Chosuke means "long, chief, boss" (長) (cho) and "forerunner, herald" (介) (suke).
  • Chosuke's surname Nakamoto means "go-between, relationship" (仲) (naka) and "base, root, origin" (本) (moto).
